Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, #1, #2 (blue), Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: v40 blue extra with v60 red/silver kicker

An excellent day with perfect conditions. Lots of skiers out today. Air temp -3C at start from P10. All trails were immaculate, grip wax worked well, but so apparently did skins, tape and klister for us classic skiers. Had an unfortunate event which ended my ski: returning very fast down trail 1 Ridge Road on Khyber I crashed and ended up being knocked out. Louise, a skate skiing nurse among the group that helped me up looked after me until I was subsequently transported by Xavier on a rescue snowmobile down to P10. An NCC employee accompanied my wife back to P10. Anyway, I now know how not to finish a fast downhill run and also that the NCC / Demsis set-up is excellent. Ottawa General Hospital Emergency is also excellent!

Always an adventure in the park!

Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery. The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
