Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Champlain Pkwy, Gatineau Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, Glide Wax: -3 to -10, Grip Wax:

ROUTE: P3 up to the Champlain T and then up Champlain to the Lookout. And back again.

SKATE: Conditions were considerably different at different heights. Near P3 and about halfway to Pink it was quite icy though the grooming made it passable. From Penguin to about Mulvihill it was icy but the grooming left some powder that made for decent control. From Mulvihill up to the Lookout the conditions were fantastic: lots of good dry snow that allowed for fantastic glide both up and downhill and also allowed for excellent control.

TRAFFIC: The hordes were arriving as I was heading in. Despite this the traffic through Gatineau and Ottawa was light.
