Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, #5 (green), #27, Glide Wax: CH7, Grip Wax:

Jo-Ann and I skated from the Relais this afternoon, covering the parkway from near Asticou up to Mulvihill, and also part of Trail 5. Despite temperatures near the freezing point and intense sunshine the snow surface was still powdery, with no suction noticeable on the descents. Below Mica heavy skier traffic had flattened the corduroy, and Trail 5 was hard and almost icy in spots. Snow conditions were much better above Mica, with a softer surface still showing grooming texture. Overall it was a very good ski. With fresh grooming conditions should be great early tomorrow morning, particularly on the higher elevations. Photos at musicianonskis.ca
