Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 101 North, 102, 103, 104, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

I took advantage of the fresh snow and did a lunchtime ski. There is quite a lot of fresh snow down, but the temps are very mild so the base layer was very unstable (be cautious if you have weak ankles). Most trails had been already skied on so I just followed those tracks, but I did have to cut my own path in a few areas. The ski itself was great cardio due to limited glide (due to warm temps)....I’m not complaining :-)
There is rain in long term forecast so Im making the best of what we have this weekend!

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
