Kanata Nordic
Took a tour around the campground trails over the lunch hour. The surprise snow from last night is damp and slow. Felt like I was skiing in oatmeal!
Still - the conditions are very good (even with the ungroomed snow) for skate. The classic track is skier-set - and as it warms up, it will fall apart in places.
Crossing my fingers and hoping the long range forecast cools down just a little bit!
Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).
The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.
Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
