Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #2 (from #40 to #1), #9, #33, #40, #20, #21, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: green vr40 with blue v30 kicker

An excellent day out again. Snow was perfect:beautiful condition on groomed trails and nice and soft and fluffy on back country trails. Easy downhill running in all cases, although 2 was a bit icy heading back to P12. Wax worked perfectly. Air temp was -15to -18C and the wind was brisk in exposed areas of the trails. Had my first experience of swamp skiing off trail 9 (see pic). Stopped in Chelsea on the way home for a well-earned beer and poutine!
Quite a few people were on the trails despite the dire forecast. You just have to dress appropriately, in layers, and cover your face if you start to get cold and frostbite will not be an issue
