Trails Skied: 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 12b, 12, Glide Wax: waxless, Grip Wax:

The groomer has worked wonders on the difficult surface left by the rain and warm temps this weekend. Grooming was in progress as I skied this morning, but I seemed to be following him as all the upper trails had fresh grooming. Conditions are variable though. Overall the surface is a semi-compacted lumpy granular, with a hard base almost everywhere except the #6 and #3 trails. The classic track is wiped out in places just from not having great snow to work with. The snow was fast and fun, and I am guessing it is a 4-flake surface for skate skiing, I was doing classic and it's just so-so for that, but still worthwhile. Very little debris. The parking lot has some deep frozen-slush ruts, but my little car got through it OK.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
