Kanata Nordic
The long awaited snow dump finally arrived. From a groomer and skier perspective I can report that all trails have been compacted, rolled and for the most part groomed. They will be soft today and will harden up tonight. There are a couple of small areas on 101 and 106 where water came to the surface after grooming; they may already be covered by the light snow that was falling. The Mogul Master should be out soon to level some undulations.
Westenders; take advantage of the short drive to get in a quick early morning, lunch time
, or after work ski
Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).
The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.
Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
