Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 101 North, 102, 103, 104, 106, TCT, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Great to get out for a ski today and see others out there too! As the temperature warmed, trails got soft and a bit sloppy/icy. There was some dirt that has been turned up in a few spots (e.g., 106 through the rolling section).

I used waxless skis, mostly due to laziness (or efficiency?). I think it would have taken some work to get grip. Glide wasn't super, but I blame the skis.

The base isn't deep and it won't weather the weekend well. But I spy some snowflakes in the long-term forecast, so there is hope.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
