Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: , Glide Wax: Vauhti Violet, Grip Wax: Vauhti Tar Universal

Excellent day for skiing, so-so day for the grooming. We started out around noon from P6. The tracks weren't great but just being out skiing was. Tar was the wax of the day for sure..took us a few tries to come to that conclusion. We skied up #30 to Ridge, both had seen some grooming and there were classic tracks set down one side while skiers had done a good job of skiing in a classic track down the other side. Once we crossed the Fortune Parkway it was obvious that this section of Ridge had not been groomed "January 1 Before 8 am" as claimed. Neiter had Burma (#3), which likely has not yet been graced by a groomer this season. Lucky for us many skiers had ventured up and down Burma and had set an excellent single track. They were also passing on the warning that there was a large tree down across the trail about 100m from the Fortune Parkway. If decending be careful! While some skiers have built a ramp over the fallen tree for those unable to stop, it will like result in some good air time!
