Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, #1, #2 (blue), #1 (green) (#2 - #24), Glide Wax: LF8, Grip Wax: K15, later VR60

A delightful start to the new year! We were the second car to arrive at P10 at 7:20, and skied towards Western as the sun rose. There wasn't much sun, however, just lovely sporadic flurries. Everything was perfect today: fresh grooming, mild conditions, perfect wax and congenial company. Conditions were slow, but the scenery was spectacular. After a lengthy, relaxed sojourn at Western, much of our time spent coaxing the stove to burn wood (it needs a damper control), we headed off for a second, longer ski.
Certainly the best ski of the year, so far, and the bar is now set very high. This will be a difficult ski to beat! (more photos at www.musicianonskis.ca/blog)
Happy New Year!
