Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Champlain Pkwy, MacKenzie-King Rd , Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: Vauhti Carrot

The Sun was shining, it was warm and conditions were good this morning. The snow was powdery at 9:30 but starting to glaze and transform and get slower by 11:30. Tracks were firm for both classic and skate. Skate surface was slick but you could edge easily. Classic tracks were glazed, with the "occassional" oak leaf thrown in.

There was an issue with the maintenance team snow machines ripping up 50% of the skate surface on Champlain parkway from Mica to Black's Lake. This caused loose chunks to scrape away and it was possible to hit pavement where the machines had churned up the snow. Not sure how much of the loop that affected but they had not gone up Black's Lake hill and everything above was well covered and firm.
