Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #2 (from #40 to #1), #40, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: Waxless

This trip report is for yesterday, Saturday. Skied up #40 to Ridge, then skied towards Wolf bench (junction of Ridge and Wolf trail). Came down #2 back to parking lot. I lightly scraped several rocks while going up #40; I’m glad I was using rock skis. Ridge was groomed earlier this week with new fresh snow on it which made for pleasant classic skiing. There is definitely more snow past the #62 junction on Ridge (going west). #2 was fine for skiing down except for one small stream crossing where rocks showed; I came down riding my poles to minimize snowplowing and didn’t hit any rocks on the way down. #2 is better than #40 because many hikers have packed the snow down. The view at the bench on Ridge was beautiful with the afternoon sun and the glistening snow.
