Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Champlain Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, MacKenzie-King Rd , Glide Wax: CH8, Grip Wax:

Today I took my own advice and started from P6 to avoid the crowds I encountered earlier in the week at P10. P6 was relatively deserted at 9:30, and I had fresh grooming all the way up the CP to the Huron Lookout. Skating conditions were variable- in places there was wet granular, in others there was still thick, wet cotton-wool snow. Skiing wasn't particularly fast, but it was very pleasant. My skis gradually slowed as temperatures rose. Coverage was still complete- there is plenty of snow left in the park. I turned around at the Huron Lookout since the grooming ended at that point. Overall it was a good late-season ski.
