Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 1, 2, 6, 8, 12a, 12b, 12, Glide Wax: Swix CH8, Grip Wax: would be tricky - perhaps a waxless ski?

A couple of late afternoon loops around the upper campground trails. The skate conditions are quite good due to the grooming pass and the softer snow later in the day. Classic tracks are thin though. I'd have to say that we're coming to the end of set tracks - there's lots of hard snow, but making a classic track in these conditions is tough. But skiing in the sun without a toque on - totally worth it.

Deer score was 10 (can't be sure that was 10 unique deer, but they're active now)

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
