Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 1, 2, 6, 8, 12a, 12b, 12, Glide Wax: Anything will work, Grip Wax: I'd try a violet or universal cold klister

Conditions are not changed too much from yesterday in the upper trail network. Skate lane is hard, but not impossible to get an edge. Classic tracks are variable from hard to non-existent.

I think that later in the day the snow will soften up (areas in full sun over where getting softer over the noon hour) and conditions will improve for skate. Classic will still be tough without a klister - until it really softens up, waxless skis won't really have anything to bite into. What about skins? Anyone want to lend me a pair to test?

And, for those keeping a deer score - lots of "deer pebbles" and a few white tails running around.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
