Trails Skied: 1, 2, 6, 8, 12a, 12b, 12, 101 North, 102, 103, 104, 106, TCT, Glide Wax: Swix CH8, Grip Wax: tough call

Skate conditions late this afternoon varied from ok (hard pack) to quite good (machine groomed granular). Overall, the upper campground trails are in better shape than the lower field trails. The classic track is shallow to non existent - these are tough conditions to groom in!

I suspect that noon to afternoon skiing will be ok early this week as the snow softens up during the morning.

Trail 12 was in better shape than expected - no problem with the downhills when skiing towards the NW (IMO, the right way to ski this trail)

Watch out for the slight trail re-route on 101 N - flood/freeze patches.

The parking lot at 401 is icy. Take care in ski boots.

And yes, the deer are out

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
