Excellent 5-flake classic conditions today on the upper trails, or they were this morning, anyway. The new snow might have been just a little too deep for perfect skate skiing, as the groomer had not yet been out. There was a group of 6 snowshoers who were travelling along southern trail 1 and most/all of trail 8. They were staying out of the classic tracks for the most part, but are leaving a very irregular surface for skate skiers. The snow wasn't powder but wasn't sticky either, it was fast and very nice. Let's hope it doesn't actually turn to rain like the weather reports say it might.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
