Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Champlain Pkwy, MacKenzie-King Rd , Glide Wax: LF Blue, Grip Wax: N/A

Well that was a disappointment!! A dozen of us met, mostly to skate. We lasted an hour, after which it was universally agreed that coffee was much preferable to the hard and unyielding conditions and that we would reschedule our event. The corduroy was rock-hard, making it extremely difficult to edge or gain any control. One of the guys in our group was skiing classic - he is a strong classic skier and a former downhill racer. He described the conditions on trail 15 as "scary". Thank goodness we all had yearly passes and had not forked out huge amounts for a daily pass. Is the season now over for grooming? It was so good earlier in the year.
By the way, the sand truck arrived and the operator was generous with the sand at the trail head, but extremely miserly where skiers have to walk in their ski boots.
Conditions are WRECK-AMENDED today.
