Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 1, 2, 6, 8, 12, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

The upper trails are skiable, but conditions are not good. Thanks to the groomers they're better than you'd expect given the recent freezing rain, but they're at the point where nothing but fresh snow would likely improve them. Surface is crusty and granular, but there is still enough loose sugar to give some control. Lots of leaves and needles on the trails have fallen since the last snow. Still, skiing was better than not skiing. Tomorrow I will try the lower trails if I get out, from the sounds of the KN website the conditions there might be better.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
