Kanata Nordic
Trails were groomed as described in the Kanata Nordic website. I enjoyed the fresh snow. The lower #12 was packed but not track set for classic. The track was in good condition on #1 and #8. The chalet was warm with a fire going. Numerous skiers were out enjoying the trails, as were a few doing trail maintenance. I counted 9 cars in the parking lot.
Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).
The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.
Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
