There was a centimetre or two of new snow at Lac Philippe and it made all the difference. Where it had not fallen underneath a stand of dense hemlocks, the surface was quite hard, almost icy. On the new snow, grip and glide were both excellent.
Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery.
