Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 101 North, 102, 103, 104, TCT, Glide Wax: Should have used some, Grip Wax: Waxless would work

There's about 3 to 5 cm of fresh wet snow on the trails. None of the trails were groomed this am - this might be a good thing - grooming wet snow doesn't work well.

The conditions for skate were - well - slow. Kinda like skiing in peanut butter. Classic (on skier made tracks) looked OK if you were using waxless skis. Trail coverage is good given the lack of snow since mid December.

Here's hoping that things cool off a bit tonight, the snow sets up, and a pass of grooming can be done. That would take the conditions up a notch.

Think snow!!!!!!!

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
