Finally enough new snow to ski again - I hadn't been out since November 20! The snow is perfect, but so thin that the grooming scrapes the classic tracks (where set) down to ice or crystals. I stuck to the lower trails as advised on the KN website, quite a few other skiers were out. I skied mostly on the skate track which was set over most of the trails I skied. In some places it had only been rolled. Base is solid ice in places, but mostly enough snow to cover it that it's not an issue (except in places in classic tracks). The snow is wonderful right now, but not thick enough to maintain a decent skiable surface if it warms up again tomorrow as forecast.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
