Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #1 (green) (#2 - #24), #33, #40, #21, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Took the Meech short loop - 40, 33, 21, 2 - in the morning sunshine. All the trails were different. Trail 40 looked like it had been flattened by a schoolbus load of adolescents in boots. At least there were no leaves in the tracks but there were no tracks. Trail 33 felt like skiing in the Gatineaus 30-40 years ago. Two ski tracks in fresh snow - no grooming, no skaters, quiet and pretty. I cut track on 21. The short, steep part has enough rocks that it is wise to step down. Descending 2 quickly on all those boot prints felt like driving a rough dirt road in an old truck - I bounced all over the place.

It is lovely to be out. There were 5 cars in P12. P8 and P11 were overflowing.
