Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Champlain Pkwy, #1, #1B, #2 (from #40 to #1), Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Exploration skate ski from P12. If this was just a snow report I would give it 4 stars: excellent coverage (barely changed from last week, or the week before, or the week before...) and other than some hard stretches first thing, very enjoyable transformed spring snow. As a ski report, things are a little different: not a rock ski, but a "wood ski" with obstacle course. This being said, kudos to the trail crews who did an amazing job removing obstacles without messing up the snow (and they're still at it: saw a convoy of 3 snowmobiles heading out on #1 at Western at 11am). But you will find sawdust. twigs, pine needles... which call for caution and agility. Given the date, and the weather, an amazing day to be out on skis!
