Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Champlain Pkwy, #1 (green) (#2 - #24), #1 (blue), Glide Wax: Vauhti Violet covered with Vauhti Speed Violet. Rilled., Grip Wax:

Skate-skiing from P6 to Wolf Trail and back saw an ever-changing array of trail conditions and a couple a bald patches at Champlain Lookout and the bench at Wolf Trail. Apart from the astoundingly good current snow conditions, the warming days play an increasing role in each day of skiing. I started on fresh cold powder that was still falling, over which my skis were rather slow and I finished on rapidly transforming snow over which my skis fairly skimmed...when they weren't bogging in slushy corn snow. Gotta get out early when it's still cool in order to really enjoy the best conditions for those long skis at this time of year.
