Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, #1, #1B, #3, #9, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: blue extra

Another great day in the hills. 5 snowflakes for the parkways, with immaculate classic tracks and corduroy. 4 snowflakes for trails 3 and 9, which were ungroomed but easily skied. There was just one icy patch on 3 near the top of the climb from FLP. Trail 9 was a bit treacherous after crossing 1, with footprints all the way down to Western Shelter and really rough snow where the groomer had turned at the bottom of 9 at trail 2. Skis have to come off at the danger sign above the shelter or the bases will be gouged. Trail 1b on return was hard and icy, with little grip, as was 1 to Huron (2 snowflakes for them). We headed over to CP and had a great run down to FLP then all the way down to P10. Lots of evidence of back-country trail usage:12,28,21,20,32 and also of off-trail swamp skiing.
