Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #50, #55 (green - shared), Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: waxless

Temperature was -3 this morning at P19, so the tracks were icy in spots on Trail 50 compared to yesterday. While the classic tracks were deep throughout, there were many areas on 50 where the tracks were broken up into icy chunks that made for a difficult glide. You were better off jumping out of the tracks for the downhills, as the skate lanes were softer with only a few icy spots. A few more bare spots on 55 along the shore of Lac Renaud, but once you turned into the woods the conditions were excellent until Ohomisi, where the grooming stopped. For most of my route I would rate as 4 snowflakes today just because it is April, but the stretch from Lac Renaud to Ohomisi would be 5 snowflakes at any time of year. Probably the last ski of the year for me - time to get out the golf clubs!
