Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, #1, #1B, #1 (blue), Glide Wax: LF8, Grip Wax: VR55N

Another lovely, mild winter day! No noticeable melt in the past few days and the fresh snow remains, well, fresh. Classic skied to Wolf trail. Excellent tracks all along, barely a few icy spots and hard wax worked perfectly (but started wearing off at the end: binder strongly advised).
Did a few incursions off trail and it is remarkably good anywhere, on ponds or in the forest: 5cm of fresh snow on top of a hard crust are just about the dream conditions. Go out while it is cold! (just beware open water - and presumably thin ice - on some ponds).
Also remarkable is how clean the snow is for this time of year. Even usual messy spots like #1 approaching Shilly Shally are fairly clean.
