If you crave bragging rights, today is the day to ski. I turned back almost immediately, as did 4 of my friends at various times this morning. Hard, frozen, icy, and a raw wind to boot. If you have perfect balance, have never been injured and love fast ice beneath your skis, these are perfect conditions!
To be fair, I'm sure conditions were better higher up, but I needed a relatively flat spot to try out my recovering knee.
I do think that the "recommended" label is very vague. Something like "ski if you must" would be more appropriate. The skiing was nasty at P8.

Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery.
The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
