Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Champlain Pkwy, #1, Champlain Pkwy, MacKenzie-King Rd , Glide Wax: Violet, Grip Wax:

Skied from P6 up to Brule lookout and then out along Ridge road for a bit before returning back. Must have been out a bit earlier than Gary as conditions were firm and fast only turning a bit soft as I got back to the car. The trails were also really busy so perhaps most skiers are up on the tracks early before things get too warm. Certainly the stretch from Mulvihill lake to the T, I often see very few people but today I met 30 or 35 skiers at least - in ones and twos or small groups.

I also took a turn crust cruising a few of the small swamps. Warm sun yesterday coupled with cold overnight temps made for a perfect crust to ski on. Sadly it's a bit late in the season so some of the ponds have some open areas. Crust cruises beware!

Looks like the groomers are scaling back their efforts as the season winds down and the trails thin. P11 and 12 seem to be no longer recommended and that will likely get added to as the week progresses. Ski it while you can unless we get some snow midweek!
