Green Belt

Trails Skied: 10, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: universal klister

This report coves the Larose Forest Trails from P2 on Hwy 8 south of Bourget ON. Same ski route as my report last week, south trails/Perron loop. Classic tracks were icey trenches that grabbed at my boot for the first part through the trees towards Boundary road. Conditions improved after that as the snowed softened in the sun. There\'s a few spots where the ground is coming through. Likely won\'t see any more grooming this season from the Township. Probably best to go closer to noon when the snow is softening. Not too many good days left, rain is supposed to start Wednesday and into the weekend...

Kichi Sibi Winter Trail

The National Capital Greenbelt has over 100km of trails and another 25km of recreational pathways, most of which are suitable for cross-country skiing in the wintertime. All of the trails are suitable for beginner and family outings. Some are now maintained by volunteer groomers; OWWT, BWT, SHE, Kichi Sibi.

ONSC grooms The Hornet's Nest (Tauvette street to Montreal Rd), Mer Bleue and Pine Grove Forest (the section off Leitrum Rd). Trails are classic skiing ONLY, no skating is allowed on these trails. The Hornet's Nest is groomed at least weekly and the others as time permits. Updated trail conditions are available at the snow phone; 613-837-SNOW.
