Skate, Thursday evening. Trails skied had been groomed in morning. Trail 1 track set. Well covered except some open areas exposed to sun. Where rock or dirt is exposed one week before vernal equinox the sun will always win. Trail 8 under Hydro lines has one small area which is just passable. Centre of trail is smooth with a few snow machine ruts here and there. With cold surface will be hard and fast. Grooming would fix this, although not much base to work with in locations. Track set looks decent with exposed ice in locations. Generally still a reasonable ňoption for a nearby quick ski.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
