Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 1, 2, 2, 12, Glide Wax: Use some!, Grip Wax:

The snow is sticky, but if you wax, conditions are great! The base was still in good shape, so the couple of inches of snow we got in the past 3 days has made everything skiable again. The base is flat, no rocks or sticks coming through where I was (mostly on the eastern side of the upper trails). There are a few deep ruts where meltwater had been cutting through the base during the thaw, but there aren't many, and they didn't hamper my progress at all. No grooming, but it wasn't needed (and would probably wreck the snow that is there, so if the groomer is reading this, don't bother trying). Very little animal traffic, but unfortunately some hikers were coming through on the public part of trail 12, and from their footprints they had come from the western upper club trails, so there may be damage from them over there, I don't know how extensive.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
