Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #2 (from #40 to #1), #33, #40, #21, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

It is a beautiful day and the trails off Meech are very well groomed. Whoever did 40, 33, and 2 put the tracks in just the right places (and left them out of the steeper pitches). I tried 21. It is probably characteristic of backcountry conditions. On the flats there is a dusting of new snow to provide grip. Climbing is easy enough. The descents can be tricky with that crust to catch your skis, but I think that will only be a problem for the first several skiers who use the trail. The crust will be broken up after a bit of traffic.
