Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #1, #30, #8, #17, #31, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: blue extra vr40

P7 main lot was full, but space in overflow at 10:00. Lots of skiers out today. Wax peformance varied, depending on the trail. Lots of snow on the back trails. We actually lost our orientation on 17 and turned on 23 (hiking trail I think). It led to 8, which was a bonus, as the views were as nice as on 17. We rejoined 17 later and ended up at Keogan for lunch. There are lots of steep downhills and climbs on 17 and 8, so caution is required (I wiped out twice on downhills and face-planted once on a very steep climb; that's what can happen to intermediate level skiers on expert trails). We had a fast and easy ski back to P7 on Trails 1, 31 and 30. Recommendations for the excellent back country trails: always have a companion, a map, reading glasses if necessary and ask directions if you are lost and encounter other skiers!
