Snow conditions are still in the 5-flake range, but I had to downgrade by a flake as classic grooming is missing in places, and in many areas where it is there, it has been sliced up badly by skate-skiers, which is too bad since in many of the areas where it's been destroyed, the trail is wide with room for everybody. Not much deer traffic on the trails though, most of the deer herd was down near P3 today. I still park at P3 but the gate is often (not always) open now and you can usually park at 411 Corsktown.

About Skiing in the Kanata Area..

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 3 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions.

Trails at the YMCA Bonnenfant Outdoor Centre are NOT MAINTAINED.

A day pass for skiing is $7.00 ($5.00 for snowshoeing) payable at the trailhead or online. Members receive a season trail pass as part of their club membership.
