Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Champlain Pkwy, MacKenzie-King Rd , Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Deep winter conditions in the park today. When I arrived at P5 it was snowing heavily and kept on going throughout my ski. Although grooming had been done overnight, it was all snowed in. Conditions were OK, the very powdery snow on top added on an extra strength component to skate skiing. Tracks were great all along, I skied P5 to Mica, then down MacKenzie King road to P6 and back.

Temperature was a treat with -8 but quite windy in places. P5 wasn't very busy, even less so at 4 when I left. Given the weather forecast, Sunday looks like it'll be a good day for skate skiing again! The cold tomorrow and Saturday will work it's magic on the fresh snow from today, hopefully then leaving us with packed and fast conditions in warmer temperatures on Sunday afternoon!

Classic looks excellent, the winter scenery is quite spectacular these days!
