Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Nice and sunny afternoon skate ski, starting from P3. I waited for the warmest time of the day, and it was a popular time to ski! Skied a figure 8 starting at P3, #5, #26, parkway towards Pink's, #5 back, #26 again and back on the parkway. No fresh grooming had been done as far as I could tell, but everything was in good shape. Skate was firm and not very fast as expected, tracks were in good shape too. Tracks are iced up a bit on the bottom, so base binder will be helpful.

Many people were out, given that it was warmer than in the last few days and sunny no surprise. The cold makes the grooming hold up very well. There's a little bit of stuff from the trees on #5 and #26 in places, but nothing bad or unavoidable.

If you bundle up accordingly, there's definitely some great skiing out there! All snowshoe and fat bike trails that I passed looked very firm, so that's a good option too if you wanna stick to single track trails with less wind.
