Green Belt

Trails Skied: 53, Glide Wax: universal, Grip Wax: Green

The trails from P20 are presently unskiable due to work going on in the area. Vehicles have been driving on the trail leading from the parking lot. Opted for P21 and trail 53 further up Anderson Road. There was a single skier made track leading from the parking lot for about a 100 metres, but after that had to cut my own track on 53 towards the boardwalk. A large tree has fallen on the trail just before the boardwalk which you'll have to climb over. Snow depth was good with only a few spots where I scraped ground and other protrusions. Probably best to use your rock skis until we get more snow...

Kichi Sibi Winter Trail

The National Capital Greenbelt has over 100km of trails and another 25km of recreational pathways, most of which are suitable for cross-country skiing in the wintertime. All of the trails are suitable for beginner and family outings. Some are now maintained by volunteer groomers; OWWT, BWT, SHE, Kichi Sibi.

ONSC grooms The Hornet's Nest (Tauvette street to Montreal Rd), Mer Bleue and Pine Grove Forest (the section off Leitrum Rd). Trails are classic skiing ONLY, no skating is allowed on these trails. The Hornet's Nest is groomed at least weekly and the others as time permits. Updated trail conditions are available at the snow phone; 613-837-SNOW.
