Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Champlain Pkwy, Gatineau Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, MacKenzie-King Rd , Glide Wax: KUU pink, Grip Wax:

Reports seem to be a bit scarce this weekend so I'll toss one in. I skate skied from P6 up the CP to the Champlain Lookout, back down the Black Lake Hill and along the GP to the birch grove at the top of the hill just south of P5, then back to P6. The grooming was fresh and flawless, with good glide and great control. The classic tracks were firm, straight and deep, although surprisingly a bit bumpy on some descents. As usual the Empty Quarter was pretty much empty, and offered great skiing away from the crowds. I ended my ski just as the flakes started to fall- let's see if we really get the forecast 20cm!
