Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #2 (blue), #1 (green) (#2 - #24), #24, #33, #40, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: universal klister -4C to 2C

We left P12 around 10 a.m. Temperature was 1C. The klister worked well on the climb up 40, but the track was extremely hard and icy, as well as very fast. The same issues existed on most of 24, 2 and 33. Grooming quality on those trails was not good, perhaps as it was done too early today (if at all). The corduroy on some trails was very hard and other ridges caused difficult control issues on downhill sections. Skiers on back country waxless skis experienced the opposite problems to us: poor grip climbing and good control downhill. The only good conditions we experienced were the last 100m to Western Shelter and trail 40 returning from 33 to P12, as the track had softened enough to allow downhill control at last.
