Mooney's Bay Ski Area

Trails Skied: Stadium, Skate Loop, Glide Wax: Yellow? -1 to -7, Grip Wax:

SKATE: Overall the conditions were pretty good considering recent weather and the fact that hell was supposed to freeze over today. The Beach loop was in pretty solid condition considering how icy and unmanageable it was on Sunday. It was very easy to navigate all parts of the facility for an intermediate skier. Beginners might find it icy in one or two places. It was soft which gave me a lot of control, but it wasn't mushy. When it freezes up it will be much more difficult. There is a lot of track trash on all parts of the area (especially in the back along Hogs Back) but nothing that really gets in the way of progress. The crew at Mooney's have done a great job of providing a great facility under tough conditions.
