Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #50, #55 (green - shared), Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Good news and bad news although still skiable from P6, P8, P10, P12, the bad news is scratch P19 from the list. My route was P19=>#50=>#55=>Taylor lake and back same way.

Trail #50 was so so till you got to the first downhill at the gate pic #1. The junction with #55 was in rough shape pic #2, slushy lots of water, past that point on #50 looked not too bad.

Trail #55 started to get lots of bare spots around Renaud lake, then it was ok until the start of Taylor lake then it deteriorated quite a bit , I only went about 100 meters from the start of the lake before I turned back lots of gravel.
The best option seemed to be trail #56.

I didnt venture onto #54 to Lusk cabin, but can only imagine lots of ice were the detour is and debris from the trees. For those who have reserved a cabin or yurt you will probably be walking there in the next day or so. I did make a small detour to check out the new cabin Des Pins, for those who had been at the old one this is quite an improvement, very nice and bright, my last pic.

Interesting to read the reports about Ridge between Keogan and Penguin seems to be another option to ski on, besides P10 and P12.
