Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: North Loop, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Another quick and late ski on the North Loop. As I drove to P10, Ian Black was announcing a thunderstorm watch!

This was the third short skate ski in a week for me, an unbelievable record for me since injuring my leg 15 months ago. I have really been missing it but it felt just like old times today (insert big smiley face here).

The north loop was full of clean, groomed snow. The temperature had recently risen to plus 3 and wasn't as slow as it might have been. There were no bare spots, no ice and not much dirt. The area near P8 looked a bit suspicious though, and will probably go in the next day. About halfway back, there were a few rumbles of thunder, and as I packed the skis in the car a very close BANG. The rain started as I closed the door. Perfect timing!
