Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy , North Loop, Glide Wax: LF (yellow whatever # that is) , Grip Wax:

A very easy and slow skate ski on the North Loop with a little peek at the conditions on the other side of Meech Lake Road.

The North Loop was surprisingly wonderful. Thanks to the recent grooming there were no boot prints (well almost none), no dirt, and the skate lane was quite firm considering the temperature, something around 10 degrees. There were no bare spots and no ice. Across Meech Lake Road, it was considerably softer, as you can probably even see in the photo. And to clinch the fact that spring seems to be really here, there were 2 beavers out sunning in the pond, a nearby kingfisher and 2 Canada Geese. There were people both skating and skiing classic, but generally all was quite quiet.
