P10-Ridge-Huron-Champlain lookout, back on Burma

Similar to Ken, we decided on an early start (8:00) to try to beat the double-digit temperatures. We had the excellent company of my enthusiastic 14 and 16 year old niece and nephew who are learning to skate ski and have been absolutely starved for winter, as they live in Southern Ontario. It was minus 6 when we started and conditions were dazzling, especially in contrast to the icier tracks of yesterday's ski in the P19 belt. Traveling with hungry teenagers we had constant food breaks and enjoyed sitting out at Huron with the birds, and dallying at the lookout as the temperatures climbed. The Teho green worked like a charm until about the start of Burma. I upgraded once, but by then the temperatures were soaring and it seemed like a losing race with the sun. At around 11:00, BOOM, the snow was suddenly soft as we reached the last downhill on Burma and started down Fortune. Time to get those skis rilled!!
It was a delightful ski in every way, even with a total lack of grip wax! Great company, great trails, great weather.
