Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #50, #55 (green - shared), Glide Wax: CH7, Grip Wax:

Afternoon skate ski from P19 along the Lac Philippe shore on trail 50, with a sort side trip to Renaud cabin. There was still complete coverage, but the surface was quite hard, particularly between P19 and intersection with trail 55. Classic tracks were very shallow through this section. The best snow was in the pine forest along the Lac Philippe shore, with well-formed deep classic tracks. It was certainly worth skiing, but from other reports it would appear that the Ridge Road sector is offering better conditions. Friends we met along the route reported that trail 52 had not been groomed recently, and was hard and treacherous.
