Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, #1 Penguin Climb, #1, Glide Wax: Vauhti LF graphite covered with HF Green, Grip Wax: Hairies, Zeros or Vauhti Universal or Silver Plus klister

Skied from P5 up Penguin down ridge road to the bottom entrance of Burma, up to Huron and back along the parkway and ridge road to P5. Skate.

Glide: Vauhti HF graphite covered with HF Green (pretty decent, blue would have been better, structure was fast)

Conditions are very good, most of the rain we got in town fell as snow in the park so coverage is not an issue (all white, no thin spots, not icy). Penguin, Ridge Road, and Burma are in good shape but have a thin ice layer with powder underneath as they have not been groomed yet. It is fairly fast and very skiable though. It was warm and sunny out there so the snow was fairly wet, dryer up top and wetter lower down. The tracks should firm up over night with forecasted colder temperatures and grooming which should make things a bit more consistent grip wise tomorrow. Anna reported that her hairy skis worked best today. By the looks of it courses should be in good shape for the weekend. I saw signs pointing up Penguin for the 51km race tomorrow...
